I don't know if anyone will read this, seeing as the site is (mostly) dead and all, but I felt like writing it anyway. =w=" Those who already know me are probably sick of me saying it...

The community is dead. There is a general non-motivation to make new fanime or stick to one idea, seeing as many people (even highly talented ones) get minimal attention. The other day I found a person who had posted several 'fanime'-type animations that were amazing, yet she got no attention and I was her first subscriber. People have crawled back to YouTube and DeviantArt, which is all good, but where does this leave us?

What ever happened to making new friends? What ever happened to a group of artists getting together, having fun, and making something beautiful out of it? I'm not saying it's completely extinct, but it seems like the only people who really get together and talk to each other are the more popular 'fanime'-type animators on YouTube.

Any thoughts?

So I'm bored and this site is boring because no one is on to annoy. Hopefully this will cause you all to come out like sharks drawn to blood. Let's learn a little bit about the thing you are obsessed with: Japan.

The word Otaku. I have seen it all over the place; internet froums, tee-shirts, ect. To the common western anime nerd it means devoted fan, but to the Japanese it means something else. It means practically means freak (well someone so obsessed with a hobby that they don't ever leave their house; not limited to anime) and isn't such a nice word. I remeber back when I was an anime nerd I had a friend who had a shirt that said "I am an Otaku". That technically meant "I am a Freak." Now I don't think most people would want that spewed across their chest unless they were trying to be indy or artistic or something. Now some of you probably know this.

Sorry to tell you this, but it is near impossible for you (if you aren't from there) to become a "mangaka" or an anime animator in Japan.  You know why? You're not Japanese. I once read an artist's blog where he quit his nice cozy job at Marvel comics to try to become a manga artist in Japan, because that was his dream. You know every publishing company (but one) said, "You're not Japanese." He eventually found one, but was not paid as well as he should have been so he went back to marvel. He was a "god level" artist. Sure there have been some no-Japanese anime/manga styled works, but typically they are published in the artists country of origin. When I was like many of you, I wanted be a "mangaka". Yeah. That ain't happening.

Japanese television is not dominated by anime. It is dominated by things that are much better. Variety shows and Dramas. Japanese love their comedy and most of their shows are hosted by comedians. Though these shows hardly reach foreign soil and if they do they are usually a copy of the show, not the show it's self. Look at silent library (which was just an episode (well more like 4) on a successful verity show), human tetris, Wipe out, ect. Another interesting point is that during what some consider the anime golden age, the 90's, the highest paid entertainer in Japan was not an animator, it was a comedian.

A lot of  Western anime nerds go to Japan dressed in cosplay or some lolita outfit thinking, "I must be cool because I'm dressed like an anime character, IN JAPAN!". You know what the locals often say to them? " We don't need your Halloween, Gaijin (foreigner)!!!" Cosplay is not COOL outside of a comicon, though most people don't think it's cool at all. How do you think people would react if a bunch of Japanese came over to America dressed in crappy south park cosplay, not knowing a bit of English besides a  few simple words ("Cute" "Stupid" "Hello") and catch phrases, like "Doh!". I think people would flip them the bird and call them a freak.

I could go on more, but quite frankly I am sleepy. The funny thing is, I know more about Japan now, than I did when I was an anime nerd. Funny how the world works.

The patheticness of humanity. I can't stay silent about it anymore.
Heck, it's about those who are creating NEW PLACES JUST LIKE FT. And then they come towards a video of FT's or the very site and advertise their places and/or say how something doesn't help FT get active. Rofl...just rofl... If you want a fanime community, you got it. What's the point of creating new ones? You should better help out the current one.
But they don't. Why is that? What's the problem? Well from my eyes it's clear. 1st...They want to have the power. Be admins/mods. Then it'll be fun to be around here eh 8D
What makes me think so? Well...I've seen several people going all "When will you choose the mods?" or "If I was mod I'd offer lots of things to the site" and so on. Hey, who's effing stopping you from saying your ideas out when you're NOT a mod? I mean what the fuck seriously.
That's the problem with some of people.
Can't you effing concentrate on one thing? Instead of making more sites who have like 5 members each rofl.
You don't need to have "the power" to host a contest? Really. The activity of the site also really doesn't depend on mods/admins. So stop blaming us.

As far as when I do results, I will make up an actual noobie looking script (since I don't know how to write one at all. OTL) and you will do your lines from the script instead of the story. OK since it's glaringly obvious that FanimeTube's getting quiet, I wonder if I may suggest something I've seen done on YouTube.  One person runs this competitition and picks a few songs (in private) that they want to be used.  First-come-first-serve for entries, and the organizor gives one song to each  entrant to animate one minute (or more) of the song.  It can be any language song I guess, but I'd imagine English, Japanese and maybe Korean would be the most popular choices.  Anyhow, hope this helps somehow :U
